She got her new furniture delivered yesterday and was too eager to go to bed in her new bed last night. She slept all night in her new bed, snug as a bug in a rug.

We spent the afternoon in Carabelle, one of our favorite places. So much better today after our urgent care scare last night with her 104 temperature. But children recover amazingly quickly.
Aunt Edna and Uncle Bobby joined us for dinner last night … and boy was it good. We’re having leftovers tonight.
The reception for Kristen and Bill’s wedding on June 30th took place in our back yard, and I have more pictures to share later, but when I was cleaning the camera just now I came across this one that I had to share.
We drove up to Alexandria today for cousin Desiree’s birthday party. Juliette had so much fun in the playground and in the pool and with the hose toy. Thought you might like to see the videos I took with my iPhone at the party.
They got their fancy dresses on and had a great tea party Thursday night with the new china tea set Granny Bama sent. The only thing missing was cousin Desi.
Yes, she did – and leis and flower “hair bows” and a magic wand – and after she turned me into a frog, she took a picture of me and told me I looked like a troll under the bridge. Isn’t that nice? She also told I was “the best papa ever” at our nap, so I guess it all balances out in the end, right?

Cooking is almost always therapeutic for me. Today, I must have needed a lot of therapy, ’cause I did a load of cookin’. I started making bean soup first thing this morning. Then a big breakfast of cheese grits, scrambled eggs, sausage, and blueberry bread. Today I have also made:
A double recipe of chicken salad
A double recipe of chopped chicken livers (some from a neighbor)
A double recipe of homemade blue cheese dressing (with a great American blue from Costco)
And for dinner tonight, baked chicken, mushroom risotto, stir fried bok choy – crap, I forgot to bake something delicious for dessert. Maybe a trip to the Dairy Queen is in order.
You’ve never seen a child so incredibly happy to get out and play in the snow. She would have spent the whole day outside if we had let her!
So many people in Florida wanted to see Juliette, I figured I would post some Flip videos we took this moring while waking up and reading the paper. (Momma, click on the white arrow in the middle of each picture to start the video playing.)
